Welcoming Maria!

We have recently welcomed Maria and her seven-year-old Siberian Husky to TE.  She is the owner of beautifully built Liberation Tiny Home that is 32 ft long and has two sleeping lofts.  Maria came to us from a nearby campground where she had been parked for some time.

Right now her house,  Aspen's Cove is perched upon a hilltop neighboring the Horizon and has a view of one of the ponds and homes below.

Maria was born in Seattle, WA and grew up locally, here in Hellertown, PA.  She is now currently based here in Elizabethtown, as she is serving in her 16th year of service in the PA Army National Guard in logistics.
She plans to continue her military career for another 15 years and to also live in her tiny house while she fulfills her commitment to the guard.  The PA Army National Guard moves Maria about every 2-5 years and she loves that she can move her tiny house with her wherever she goes.  Right now, she is very close to where she is based and loves that she doesn't have far to drive.

HGTV and the many tiny house shows on television helped to serve as an inspiration for her wanting to move into the tiny lifestyle, as well as her desire to save money and travel more.  Maria shares with us that her design inspiration came from the website of a Canadian company, www.idesignarch.com. She used the "custom mobile tiny house with large

kitchen and two lofts" option to help create the layout she was looking for in a home. Maria has become more of a minimalist and her tiny lifestyle now allows her to take 4-8 vacations per year.  She now knows that when she retires she does not want a house larger than 800 sq ft.  Currently, single, Maria has a large family including 14 nieces and nephews and another 6 through marriage.

Maria is a great example of how tiny living fits with her lifestyle and also how tiny living has changed her lifestyle.  Being mobile in the military gives her the opportunity to take her home with her when she is re-located. This can reduce the stress of moving furniture, buying new furniture and adapting to new living situations. Yes, the location may change and that can be exciting but having your very own home that can travel with you can ease some of the stress of making a change and ease the stress on her dog as well. There is something comforting about going home to your own house that you just don't feel anywhere else. Why not take that comfort with you?

We are proud to have Maria with us and proud of her honorable service.  We thank her for her many years of dedication to our country and look forward to our tiny family grow even larger.
