The Tale of Ellen This tale begins long before we met Ellen in April 2018.   You see, long before that she had been planning her journey to tiny and began part of the process here with us at TE and we were happy to have been there to see part of her journey and her tiny dreams come to life. She has lived in the suburbs of Philly for a very long time also with roots from New England.   There she raised a family and worked for many years and now her children are grown and on their own and she has dreamed of something different. Something just for her. She booked her first tiny home here at TE, and appropriately chose the tiny house named The Journey, a charming farmhouse from Liberation Tiny Homes.   This was the beginning of a year-long relationship.   Ellen continued to book a different house and would return each month for 7 days to stay in a different one.   She was doing research.   Serious research. The Houses:   The Skyline The Skyline is one of the newest additions to our already great lineup of tiny homes.   But if you are looking for something a little different, this house has some great unique features. 274sq ft doesn’t seem like a lot of space, but you will be surprised at how well this space has been designed.   It sleeps up to 6 people with two queen lofts and a fold out sofa. Both loft spaces are unique with two different and unique sets of steps to access the lofts. One loft has walk up stairs that wind along the wall and up to the sleeping area with a queen bed.   The other has a different type of stairs that almost appear floating, those are pictured below that leads to the loft where there is a custom live edge wood piece that serves as an artful headboard and queen bed. At 24’ long and 8.5 wide, you will not feel like you are in a compact space.   The bright blue color stands out against the natural landscape and green of the trees surrounding

The Houses:  The Escape Houses number 32 and 33 rolled in not that long ago.  Both coming from the tiny home builder, Liberation Tiny Homes. We have several houses onsite already from Liberation and but these two are quite unique. The Escape is black and gray on the exterior and is the modern version of the Rumspringa.  Similar to the farmhouse originally, but the roof is a shed style roof more like the roof a modern.  The house has lovely wood accent pieces throughout including a custom made headboard mounted on the wall in the loft and a wood feature on the end of the loft that extends onto the ceiling. Some have already said that the wood pieces on the loft and ceiling resemble bars in a jail cell and the dark colors of gray and black don't necessarily jive with the name the Escape, but it seems fitting for this new tiny. The cupboards are black and have gold knobs and handles that really stand out. We see an updated refrigerator with a freezer on the bo

30amp vs 50amp, What do you need? Wiring and electrical issues can be overwhelming to someone who doesn’t have experience installing wiring in a tiny house.   We recommend you use only experienced and licensed electricians who have experience wiring a tiny house and knowledge of the NEC (national electric code) guidelines as well as local regulations.   Local regulations will come into play if you are planning on having your tiny parked in one spot all the time.   Tiny home policies and regulations are not the norm yet but have been adopted and put in place in some areas for your safety.   So make sure you do your homework and know all the necessary policies regarding your home. 30 to 50 amp adapter When you are building a tiny house, you need to thoroughly communicate with your builder what your needs are as far as appliances and what types of things you will be operating that will draw electric.   Most good and well-seasoned builders are going to know what amp s
