What to do Summer 2019 Last week we talked about what to expect when you stay here at TE. We touched on the check-in process, the grounds, and the houses, however, this week we will touch on things to do this summer, and hopefully, we will fit in something for everyone who is coming to stay. Of course, if you are interested in something you don't see here or on our website, please reach out to us so we can help you plan a perfect tiny getaway. For the Adults; We are centrally located to many great wineries, breweries, and distilleries, many of which are offering tasty food selections as well.   Uber and Lyft will pick you up at our front door and drop you off anywhere you’d like to go.   There are also great beer and wine tour packages available in our area from Premiere #1 Limousine Service. They will pick you up and take throughout the local area to some of Central PA’s best vineyards and wineries or breweries.   You can choose a pre-set tour package or custo

What to expect at Tiny Estates Staying in a tiny home at TE is often the first time for many of our visitors.   After watching popular tiny homes shows on TV, a lot of people are interested in seeing a tiny home first hand.   Doing one of our tours is a great way to experience up to about 5 different homes, built by different builders and different designs.   For $15 per person or $25 for two people (kids are free), you can get a tour of our 14-acre property, hear about our history and go into different homes.  Tours are done in groups of five or less and we drive through the property on a golf cart.  Keep in mind for those who have difficulty navigating stairs, there are steps involved going in and out of the homes.  Another thing to remember is the weather, we will be outside for a lot of the tour so dress appropriately.  Doing the tour is usually a good first step for people who are new to tiny and want an idea of what tiny is really like.   A lot of times, people

The Houses:  The Monarch It’s been a productive week here at TE.  We are in full swing booking for the Spring and Summer season, with weekends being completely booked up and already turning people away.  Last year we saw weekends book out as far as 4-7 weeks in advance, so if you are planning a visit, please allow yourself enough time to make sure you can stay in the house you really want. Which leads me to The Monarch. A house you might want to stay in this year. Personally, one of my favorites so far, I love the feel and charm of this house. It just feels like home. A place I could sit and enjoy reading a book with all the natural light from the many windows or snuggle up and watch a movie on the large couch adorned with lots of throw pillows. This house comes to us from Greenwood Tiny Homes who are located in Leola, PA.  They are relatively new the tiny house scene, but not new to building homes, and from what we have seen from them so far, they are good craftsmen

It’s our one-year anniversary! A year ago, on April 9 th , we opened our doors for tours and reservations.  It has been a great year and a valuable learning experience.  We've grown so much from where we began and expect to have an even better second year. We started out with just a few houses on the property and now have 32.  Much has certainly changed and keeps changing as we keep moving forward into the improvements of the land and company. In just this past week, we were able to pave all the main roads throughout the property. What an improvement! If you stayed here, you probably know our property was a campground for a few decades, and now, we no longer have the sometimes-bumpy dirt roads that lead you to your tiny house.  The new paving will help control some of the dirt, dust, and mud which is a typical part of camping, but we would like to offer you something more.  Next, we will begin adding stone to all the sites in and around the houses, which wi

Safety Features in a Tiny Home Fire Safety Part-Two Last week we touched based on the importance of having smoke detectors, gas detectors, fire extinguishers, and considering your means of egress. Something as simple as unplugging small appliances, heaters, and irons when you are not using them can save your home from catching on fire. Make sure to keep at least 30” above your cooktop and the surrounding countertop clear at all times. If you ever accidentally turn your cooktop on anything that is close by could catch fire very quickly. Never leave your hot appliances unattended. If you have electrical cords running constantly, over time they can produce heat so don’t place them under a rug or between your furniture and the wall. Know how your propane system works. How to hook it up, replace it and check it regularly. Install an automatic shut off valve on your propane tank. The shut-off valve will immediately turn
