The Houses:  The Urban Loft

New Jersey native, Vickie Casey is one of the latest investors to bring a tiny home to TE for the purpose of investing.  This tiny home is unique and urban and nothing like we’ve seen here before. The new Urban Loft is going to wow all our guests.  Vickie and her daughter both designed this home to resemble a New York City urban loft apartment and they succeeded.

When you open the front door of the Urban Loft, you will be wowed with the open feel of full height ceilings and large stacked windows, allowing in an ample amount of natural light.  The main living space features a faux red brick wall, which helps give the feel of the natural exposed brick walls you might see in some repurposed buildings turned into NYC apartments.  The couch will also double as a sleeper that could accommodate two and the loft above the kitchen has a twin, so the house will comfortably sleep five people.

The kitchen spans the width of the house and has all the modern amenities you would want in a tiny house.  A second entrance door is also located in the kitchen, which is rare to most tiny homes, is all glass and allows in even more light to the space. Exposed shelves and white subway tile adorn the kitchen walls and add to the urban feel.  A kitchen island holds extra storage and room for up to two people to sit and eat or use a functional works space.  Above the kitchen is an additional sleeping or storage loft accessible by ladder.

This house was built by a private person in Austin, TX on a 32-foot gooseneck trailer. The gooseneck allows for individual box steps that lead to a walk-up bedroom with plenty of head clearing.  The bedroom features a queen size bed with room to stand and walk around as well as a huge storage closet to accommodate a healthy size clothing passion.

You will melt away the stress of the day soaking in the large jet tub in the bathroom.  Who needs a hot tub when you have your very own jet tub? The bathroom is simple with a small sink and regular flushing toilet.

Vickie is excited to see herself retiring in the Urban Loft someday.  She herself is not new to tiny living, she has downsized several times.  Going from a large home, into a townhouse, and then to a NYC area small sized apartment, she is used to moving and to downsizing.  She prefers moving about every five years or so to experience a new environment.  That is one thing that made a tiny house on wheels so appealing to her, it will fit her lifestyle of adventure and new experiences. She hopes to one day travel with her tiny house.

Vickie doubled majored in Computer Science and Psychology at Rutgers University.  She still resides in NJ at this time and hopes to retire in the Urban Loft or potentially build another tiny home and rent one of them out while living and traveling in the other.  Vickie tells us she is enjoying the passive income and that it is helping her to reach her retirement goals sooner. She loves the feel of NYC and modeling her homes with that urban look, will help her to feel at home and she take that NYC feel with her wherever her travels take her.

If you haven’t seen all the pictures of the Urban Loft yet, you can view them on our website under the “Our Homes” tab.  This house is guaranteed to be a hit with guests, and we expect to be one of the most popular homes we have on site.

You can book a stay and experience this home for yourself, by going to the “Book Your Stay” tab on our website or by calling us during office hours, 10am-6pm and we can help you.  This is one house, you’re not going to want to miss!
