A Winter Getaway

Not sure if you want to venture out in the cold and snow of the winter season?  Let us help you change your mind. If you haven't made Valentine's day plans yet and are considering coming to TE, not only do we have cozy and charming tiny homes, but lots of great things to do while you are here. Can you see yourself in your comfy loungewear, drinking something hot from a mug, nestled up under a warm blanket on the couch with someone you love?  We can offer you some romantic ways to spend Valentine’s weekend, or any winter weekend.

Things to do here over the winter:
Right now, there are some great activities happening while you’re staying with us at TE.  There are a variety of options to choose from including indoor ice skating, extreme tubing to chocolate classes.

Avalanche Express in nearby York, PA, offers a huge 900 ft extreme snow tubing hill with lots of lanes to choose from.  They also will warm you up with large fire pits located at the bottom of the hill, and a tavern for some hot chocolate or adult drinks just a few steps away.

Roundtop Resort is a great option for skiing, tubing, and snowboarding.  They offer great specials for their learn to ski or snowboard sessions.  There are lots of trails to choose from a bunny hill to 9 black diamond slopes.  Warm up in the lodge with food, warm drinks and listen to live music on select nights.

The annual Lititz Fire & Ice Fest is coming up again February 15-16.  This event has been going on for a long time and is a fun-filled time for families, couples or friends.  You can enjoy walking the streets of Lititz and viewing the amazing works of art carved out of ice.  Shop quaint one of kind stores, sample foods from the local restaurants, as well as satisfy your hunger with several food trucks, taste the chilis from the cook-off, browse the vendor fair and take the kids to the children’s carnival.

Just 20 minutes away from TE, in Hershey, you will find Chocolate-Covered February.  It is a month-long chocolate-themed event held in Hershey that spans many venues, offering lots of activities from chocolate martini mixology classes, creating your chocolate bars and truffles, chocolate sculptures, chocolate tea, wine, and chocolate pairings, chef presentations, chocolate dessert buffets, chocolate spa treatments, and special couple’s chocolate classes.  Kids can enjoy the Hershey character events and parades.  Zoo America will offer $6 admission on Fridays in February, and Swan Lake will be putting on a production at the Hershey Theatre.

We can’t forget to mention we have some great restaurants to satisfy any foodie, from casual tastes to upscale fine dining.

What to expect:
During the winter season, we still have our outdoor hot tubs up and running for you to relax in.   They are both located underneath cabanas, next to the propane firepits. You can enjoy a fun-filled day then come back to your tiny house, maybe open up some bubbly while relaxing in a hot tub, then snuggle up on the couch for a night movie watching.  This would be a good time to enjoy the snacks in the free-gift bag we provide our guests at check-in.

We are using space heaters to supplement the split heating and air conditioning units so you might want to bring an extra blanket if you are colder than most.  Warm socks and slippers are nice since cold air can circulate under the house and floors can feel colder, bring your favorite coffee, hot chocolate, or warm spiced wine.

I would recommend a pair of boots or hikers.  The property is nice to walk around and take in the scenery of the ponds and all the other tiny houses we have. Think of it as "glamping", and bring with you what would make you comfortable.  We provide all the linens, pots and pans and necessities from home.  While you are here, you can possibly join a tour and get to get an inside look at other models and tiny home designs. Just let us know when you book your stay that you would like a tour.  It's not too late to book your winter getaway.
