The Houses: The Sunset

July 22, 2018

The Sunset was named by Ryan Shank and the memories it means to him. He is the fiancé of Abby Hobson, CEO of TE. Ryan spent time living in California for his career and says Sunset means a few things to him, one being the famous Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, and he says, “Sunset is the culmination of my experiences across my adult life”.

Ryan is local to us, he grew up in Lancaster, PA with his mother, two sisters and grandparents. After attending Lancaster Catholic High School, he went on to graduate from Saint Joseph’s University in 2008 with a degree in Marketing.

For their upcoming wedding, he and Abby have decided to go off the beaten path and forego a traditional honeymoon and instead travel tiny across the nation. They recently purchased a Thomas school bus and are converting into a tiny house on wheels (THOW). After the couple say their “I do’s” in December, they will head off on a month-long adventure across the United States. Starting in Nashville, TN, they will go as far south as New Orleans, west to California, and back to the East Coast where their last destination will be Niagara Falls.

When asked “how do you expect living tiny will impact your life?”, Ryan replied, that he feels living in a tiny space will create some challenges but believes a lot of growth and strengthening will come out of it. Ryan feels they already have great strength in communication and the tiny bus journey can only make them become stronger as a couple.

When Ryan isn’t busy at TE, he is busy in his own career and his currently working on developing several creative projects including a feature length film and a film festival for the community of Lancaster (PA) to launch in 2019. We wish Ryan the best of luck with his upcoming endeavors and he and Abby lots of love and happiness in their marriage.
