Planning Your 2019 Vacation

Are you coming to Tiny Estates for your summer vacation this year? There are many reasons people come toTE, we’ve talked about it before and we’ve mentioned it in previous blogs; our great location and some local famous attractions, yes, you’ve heard it before.  But there are many fun things in the area, that are maybe off the beaten path a bit, and some not so much, but still fun things for almost anyone.
If you are planning to come to TE this year and want some suggestions from locals about different things to do, we can offer suggestions to make your vacation as fulfilling as you would want it to be.

Are you the adventurous thrill-seeking type, or maybe want to cross some items off your bucket list? If skydiving is one them, we have that close by. Just ten minutes from TE is the Maytown Sport Parachute Club where you can tandem jump from 10,000 feet.  Free-fall and reach your terminal velocity at around 120mph, then open your parachute, let your heart slow down just a bit as you spend the last few minutes of the jump taking in the sights of the beautiful landscape below.

If you're okay with heights but not jumping, maybe a hot air balloon ride is more your speed.  The United States Hot Air Balloon Team calls home just down the pike from TE. Twenty minutes from here you can take off over scenic Lancaster County on a beautiful sunrise or sunset hot air balloon adventure.  Enjoy a 2.5-3-hour total experience and end your adventure with a champagne toast and light snacks.  You will also walk away with a certificate from your experience.

If fast speeds and heights aren't your things, we can switch gears and get a little more hands on. Ever wanted to try glassblowing? In nearby Columbia, you can find Through the Fires glass blowing studio.  They offer classes for different levels of glass blowing. Columbia also has a great walking/biking trail winding next to the Susquehanna River, that runs right past a kayak outfitter to help get you out on the river.

If spending time on the water in a larger vessel suits you more, you can rent different types of boats for the day at Long Level Marina, just across the river in Wrightsville. Long Level is a huge body of water that is the perfect place for water skiing, knee boarding, tubing or just relaxing and taking in some rays.

Of course, we have the more famous, Hershey Park, Chocolate World, Dutch Wonderland, and the PA Renaissance Fair are just a few places where most families head in the summer months for long days of themed entertainment, riding roller coasters and splashing around in the water park.  However, south-central PA can offer so much for the evening for not just families but everyone.  We several great dinner theaters, concert and show venues.  Nearby Towns like Strasburg, Lititz and Mount Gretna offer unique shopping, arts, and much more for every interest.  PA is home to 282 craft breweries, wineries and distilleries if you're into tasting, and we have some good ones right here in our area. From chocolate spa treatments to zip lining through the tops of trees, from eating hot fresh potato chips off a conveyor belt to full moon wolf adventures, we will help find summer activities to please everyone in your group.

Hopefully, staying in a tiny house is something you've been wanting to cross off your bucket list.  By the end of 2019, we will have around 40 tiny homes on the property, most being used for overnight rentals. We can accommodate families of up to six people in some of our homes, and as small as two in our smallest units.  If you're feeling a little nervous, don't be.  We have supplied each tiny home with most of the amenities you would want from home.  Think of it as glamping, and we provide you with linens, bath towels, as well as pots and pans, air conditioning, heat, Wi-Fi, YouTube TV, and iPads.  Some of our houses offer first floor bedrooms, murphy beds, or pull out sofas, so we can make everyone in your family comfortable, from grandparents to grandkids. Pack your clothes, your toothbrush and head our way this summer for a unique tiny home experience.  Spend your evening around the fire pits or watching a peaceful sunset over our ponds.  Any which way you choose to spend your vacation days, we hope you will choose to spend your nights with us.  Let us show you how great a tiny house vacation experience can be.
