The Houses: The Vision (Quiet on the set!)

 This grand THOW is came to us from Spencer, owner of Roughcut Tiny Homes out of South Carolina. This is the second home we have received from Spencer, the first being the Low Country. Both homes are on goose-neck trailers and have first floor walk-up bedrooms.

The name on the Vision sign hanging outside on the home is also Doug. He is the owner of Doug Phillips Architects and is the architect who did our virtual tour on our website, I’m sure you’ve seen it. If you haven’t, go to our homepage and watch the virtual video, it’s a great concept of what is an ongoing 4-5-year project here at Tiny Estates, you won’t be disappointed. Doug also designs tiny homes under Raven Craft Tiny Homes-Designs That Soar! We are very grateful for his great work on the virtual tour.



Recently, earlier in August, the Vision was the set of a new independent movie that came to Tiny Estates to shoot. Local film maker, Jake Stetler, his cast and crew spent the day here filming scenes for his new upcoming film called, “A Stray Ember”. Below is a small description from the thriller movie’s website:
“The agoraphobic victim of a home invasion takes to the road in a motor home. She encounters others that live off the grid, including a man who reawakens her trust, but someone from her past returns to threaten her new-found freedom.”



 How does she end up at Tiny Estates in the Vision? Well, I can’t give that away, you will just have to watch the movie for yourself to see what happens. We’re very excited that there is a movie coming that includes, tiny homes and tiny living. You can find out more about “A Stray Ember” by searching the movie name or going to their FB page. We wish lots of luck to film maker, Jake Stetler, and the cast and crew of this exciting new film, and we will keep you posted on the release.

The Vision does make for a nice scene, especially if you are looking for a restful time by the water. It’s nice in the morning to sit and enjoy sipping on a cup of coffee or tea just off the front deck overlooking the water. It’s peaceful listening to the sounds of nature around you and to see the fish jumping in the pond.  What a wonderful way to start the day or end it relaxing at sunset. Can you envision yourself here?

The Houses: The Low Country September 9, 2018  Many of you maybe already familiar with the Low Country. It made a quite an impression when it arrived here at Tiny Estates, and for good reason. This tiny house has big personality and lots of rustic style. Built on a 39 ½’ gooseneck trailer, this low country rustic timber home has plenty of space with 379sq ft of space to call home. The Houses:   The Skyline The Skyline is one of the newest additions to our already great lineup of tiny homes.   But if you are looking for something a little different, this house has some great unique features. 274sq ft doesn’t seem like a lot of space, but you will be surprised at how well this space has been designed.   It sleeps up to 6 people with two queen lofts and a fold out sofa. Both loft spaces are unique with two different and unique sets of steps to access the lofts. One loft has walk up stairs that wind along the wall and up to the sleeping area with a queen bed.   The other has a different type of stairs that almost appear floating, those are pictured below that leads to the loft where there is a custom live edge wood piece that serves as an artful headboard and queen bed. UPDATE: Brandi and Jon's Tiny Home Journey We first introduced you to Brandi and Jon in December 2018.  They are on their journey to tiny house ownership, and it’s been about two months and we want to give you an update on where they are in their process. When we last blogged about Brandi and Jon, they were scheduled to have a settlement on their 2000sq ft home on January 25th.  Just prior to this, they were informed that the buyer’s buyer had backed out of their offer on their home they were selling, and the buyers could no longer move forward with settlement on Brandi and Jon’s home.  This was a devastating blow to them both, as they all just took huge steps in this exciting yet scary process.  The family already paired down their large home, giving away almost all of their big furniture and many important items to family and friends, so now what?
