The Houses:  The Monarch

It’s been a productive week here at TE.  We are in full swing booking for the Spring and Summer season, with weekends being completely booked up and already turning people away.  Last year we saw weekends book out as far as 4-7 weeks in advance, so if you are planning a visit, please allow yourself enough time to make sure you can stay in the house you really want. Which leads me to The Monarch. A house you might want to stay in this year.

Personally, one of my favorites so far, I love the feel and charm of this house. It just feels like home. A place I could sit and enjoy reading a book with all the natural light from the many windows or snuggle up and watch a movie on the large couch adorned with lots of throw pillows.

This house comes to us from Greenwood Tiny Homes who are located in Leola, PA.  They are relatively new the tiny house scene, but not new to building homes, and from what we have seen from them so far, they are good craftsmen and have done some electrical work for Liberation Tiny Homes in the past.

The Monarch has a lot of unique features; they have used reclaimed red oak barn wood for the stairs, the TV is situated within the wood ceiling beams in the living area and easily folds down when you want it to be used and, the other loft is accessed by a Chinese windlass pulley. The house features gorgeous LED recessed lighting in the beams and throughout the house as well as LED lighting in the toe kick under the kitchen cabinets.  If that wasn’t enough, there is a nightlight in the bathroom under the toilet paper holder to help light up the toilet for night time use.

The kitchen countertops are made of beautiful quartz and feature a convertible table, and cork floors are in the living area, kitchen and bathroom as well.  The original version of this house featured a rooftop deck, which could be added in your design if so desired.  For TE, we opted not to have the rooftop deck available on the Monarch while it is being used as an investment rental home.

While doing work for Liberation Tiny Homes, Merlin, and Tim, owners of Greenwood Tiny Homes fell in love with the tiny structures and mentioned to Jimmy, owner of Liberation that they might be interested in doing a build of their own, Jimmy mentioned that he had an extra trailer on it’s way to Lancaster and that was the beginning of what is now Greenwood Tiny Homes.

The Monarch was the first build for the duo.  They sold their first build to an investor and that helped kickstart Greenwood Tiny Homes.  Since then, they have built a few more with more being ordered.  In fact, we featured one of the buyers, who works for Tiny Estates, Brandi and her husband Jon, who will be building their home with Greenwood and is expected to have it completed mid-summer 2019.

This house is beautiful and charming and full of great little details you don’t normally see in a tiny home. If you are new to trying out tiny, this is a great home to start your journey in.  You can book a night, a weekend or even a week through our website or by calling our office during the hours of 10am to 6pm daily.

  1. This was my Maybe house on December 3rd. Although there was a For Sale sign on it, they opted to take a different approach in getting it to Tiny Estates. It is the first TE THOW I have seen with a toilet paper holder.
